{"id":32699,"date":"2020-02-14T17:58:52","date_gmt":"2020-02-14T17:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ufcw.org\/?p=32699"},"modified":"2020-09-08T17:23:44","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T17:23:44","slug":"valentinesday-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ufcw.org\/valentinesday-2\/","title":{"rendered":"UFCW members hard at work to make Valentine&#8217;s Day a little sweeter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"lead wp-block-paragraph\">From flower arrangements to sparkling wines to hand-crafted chocolates, UFCW members have been hard at work to make sure you have what you need to celebrate with your sweetheart this Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UFCW represents florists at union grocery stores like Kroger (including Fred Meyer, Ralphs and King Soopers), Albertsons (including Safeway, Vons, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Cars, Pavilion, Acme, Shaw\u2019s, Star, Jewel-Osco and Lucky), and Supervalu (Cub Foods, Rainbow, and Shoppers Food) just to name a few.&nbsp;Michelle is a florist at Kroger in Texas, where she enjoys creating the perfect floral arrangements and bouquets to help brighten someone\u2019s day. She recently shared how to properly arrange a bouquet in a vase, but if you still need some help, just ask your local union florist and they&#8217;ll be happy to share their expertise with you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"embed\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to Arrange a Bouquet in A Vase: A Florist Explains\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ijNrbcd3qKY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UFCW members also make Russell Stover, Ghiradelli and Hershey&#8217;s candies in preparation for Valentine&#8217;s Day. Members of UFCW Local 5 who make See\u2019s Candies craft each chocolate confection by hand. The Food Network\u2019s Tyler Florence visited UFCW Local 5 members at the See\u2019s Candies factory in San Francisco and got a peek at how these Valentine\u2019s Day treats are made. Walking into the shops is a literal treat too. They&#8217;re always so kind and inviting and give you free chocolates to try while you walk around.
