Quality, affordable health care is protected, and weekly co-premiums will increase only $1 per week in 2025. Retirement benefits are secured through defined benefit pension plans, and more workers are included in these plans. Language improvements in this contract include better provisions for earning holidays and holiday pay, greater flexibility for vacation, and additional non-discrimination language.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur members ensure people and families in our communities have the food and supplies they need,\u201d said International Vice President and President of UFCW Local 700 Joe Chorpenning. \u201cThe new contract raises pay; protects affordable, quality health care; and provides the retirement security our members have earned and deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over 8,000 members of UFCW Local 700 who work at 68 Kroger stores in Central Indiana ratified a new contract on July 15 that raises pay and protects benefits.
