This new rule mandates that any meat, poultry, and egg-based products that are labeled as \u201cproduct of the USA\u201d must be derived from an animal that was born, raised, and slaughtered in the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UFCW International President Marc Perrone released the following statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe applaud Secretary Vilsack and the USDA for the new commonsense Product of USA rule that protects America\u2019s essential meatpacking workers and keeps good union jobs in this country. For far too long, large multinational corporations have been allowed to trick consumers and cheat ranchers by repackaging meat from other countries as made in the USA.
