We are a 501(c)(5) nonprofit organization that believes in the power of ordinary people coming together to improve their lives and make a lasting difference for all working people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our members are your friends and neighbors.\u00a0They work in grocery and retail stores, pharmacies, healthcare and manufacturing facilities, and in food processing and meat packing industries. From the rural heartland to teeming urban centers, our members are on the front lines working hard to feed, serve and strengthen the neighborhoods and communities we call home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe hard work should be rewarded with a better life, and that no one should have to struggle alone. We do this by:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Winning strong contracts<\/strong> for our members that put improvements in wages and working conditions in writing\u2014 no more wondering whether employers will honor their promises<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Representing individual members<\/strong> in talks with management when problems arise<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Providing a safe, confidential way<\/strong> for workers to get answers about their rights on the job without worrying about retaliation or making things awkward with their boss or coworkers<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Reaffirming for workers that they are worthy<\/strong> and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Supporting political legislation that protects workers\u2019 interests<\/strong> and fighting corporate-funded attacks<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Acting as watchdogs<\/strong> to counter the influence of high-paid industry lobbyists.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"list-item\">\n<li><strong>Organizing together<\/strong> to tackle national and global trends<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are continually striving to push the ball forward and raise standards in the industries we represent. We recognize that victories are never given, but that they are always won.
