TC Transcontinental is a leader in flexible packaging in the United States, Canada, and Latin America, and the workers produce flexographic printing, as well as the lamination of plastic film and covering.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These workers joined our union family because they were concerned about insufficient benefits and a lack of representation from their previous labor union. The campaign to organize these workers included identifying leaders among the workers to create an organizing committee and talking about the benefits of unionizing with the UFCW.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAn organizing win isn\u2019t a victory for the union, it is a victory for the workers who choose to better their lives and their families\u2019 lives by voting \u2018union yes,\u2019\u201d said UFCW Local 342 President Deanna Abondolo-Telmany. \u201cThese workers have shown a level of dedication and perseverance to fight for a better life and we are happy to help get them there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over 150 workers at TC Transcontinental in Brooklyn, N.Y., joined UFCW Local 342 on May 1.
