Over 14,000 Disney cast members in Anaheim, Calif., including 4,500 UFCW Local 324 members, ratified new contracts on July 29. The cast members are represented by UFCW Local 324, BCTGM Local 83, SEIU-United Service Workers West, and Teamsters Local 495 and work at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and the Disney hotels in Anaheim. The historic contracts were reached after months of thousands of cast members standing up for the wages and benefits they earned and deserve.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

The three-year contracts were negotiated by the Disney Workers Rising Bargaining Committee that included a diverse set of job classifications ranging from custodians and ride operators to candy makers and merchandise clerks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

The new contracts include the following provisions:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

    \n
  • Big wages increases. Most cast members will receive $6.10 over three years.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n
    \n
  • Minimum base wage rate of $24 in 2024 (or more for some classifications).<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n
    \n
  • Historic longevity increases for senior cast members.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n
    \n
  • Attendance policy and sick leave improvements that give cast members more opportunities to attend to personal issues without fearing discipline.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n
    \n
  • New premiums for cast members.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n

    The Disney Workers Rising Bargaining Committee released the following statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

    \u201cBy ratifying these contracts, Disney cast members have secured historic raises and policies and protections that reflect their role as magic makers in the Disney parks. For months, hard-working cast members have stood together at the bargaining table and in the parks to ensure Disney recognized what they bring to the theme park experience, and these contracts are a concrete and direct result of this tireless work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

    \u201cTogether, by wearing buttons, attending rallies, and telling their stories to the public, cast members fought for a more promising future for themselves, their fellow cast members, and their families.
