ASI Group Canada manufactures school-related items, such as washroom accessories, visual display items, lockers, and other storage products, and the nearly 20 workers are employed as machine operators and general laborers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These workers joined UFCW Local 175 because they were concerned about favoritism, workplace health and safety, and other issues. They look forward to negotiating a first collective agreement that will help establish better working conditions and ensure that all workers at the facility are treated fairly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLike many frustrated workers out there, our new members at ASI Group wanted to do something to make positive change at work,\u201d said UFCW Local 175 President Kelly Tosato. \u201cJoining a union is an important first step to creating that kind of change and with the backing of their local union, these members will be able to do just that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On August 22, workers at ASI Group Canada in the city of Mississauga in Ontario, Canada, joined UFCW Local 175.
