Workers at the Dufferin Mall H&M store in Toronto, Canada, voted to join UFCW Local 1006A on Oct. 9. The 25 workers, who made the unanimous decision to join our union, are employed as sales advisors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

UFCW Local 1006A worked with UNI Global Union, which was supportive in this organizing effort, to petition H&M to respect the rights of these workers to join a union. The online vote was conducted by the Ontario Labour Relations Board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\u201cThe experience from the start until now has been just filled with support from the union, encouragement and the goal of creating a better workplace future for us,\u201d said Brandy<\/strong>, who works as a sales advisor at the store.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\u201cUnion representation empowers workers, transforms workplaces, and ensures fairness for all,\u201d said UFCW Local 1006A President Wayne Hanley<\/strong>. \u201cThis victory is a testament to the determination, enthusiasm, and commitment of H&M workers. We\u2019re excited to congratulate our newest members on their achievement. Maintaining this same level of unity and participation is vital as we begin the process of achieving a fair first contract.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
