Callais<\/em>, a case concerning the Voting Rights Act of 1965.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UFCW International President Milton Jones&nbsp;<\/strong>said:<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday, the Supreme Court stripped away one of the last remaining protections against racially rigged electoral maps. For decades, Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act ensured that Black, Latino, and other voters of color could elect leaders who reflected them. Now, that representation is in grave danger.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis decision clears the path for communities of color to be divided and have their power weakened. When communities do not have a voice, their priorities are not fought for, like access to good jobs, quality healthcare, and protections for workers. Discrimination in voting and elections will only worsen after today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEvery vote matters \u2013 that\u2019s why powerful special interests continue to try to silence communities of color and working people.
