Sanitation and other roles at the processing plant are also covered by the agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the theme of \u201cno givebacks,\u201d negotiators improved on their previous contract with meaningful wage increases, superior health insurance, more flexible paid time off policies, and clearer language around scheduling Saturday work by seniority. These hard-fought wins were secured after the company\u2019s first offer was overwhelmingly rejected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019ve tried their best to divide us, but together we are one strong voice,\u201d said Vanessa Estabrook, UFCW Local 1445 shop steward and elected committee member.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reeling in a win: Gorton\u2019s Seafood workers net a new and improved contract.
