Distilling the information:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Staff and members from UFCW Local 1D and the International shared the secrets of effective organizing tactics.<\/em>

Staffers from the UFCW International Organizing Department and the\u00a0Distillery, Wine and Allied Workers Division<\/a>\u00a0met with members earlier this summer for a one-day training session designed to emphasize the importance of relationship building in organizing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Member Engagement, Mobilization and Identification presentation, held at UFCW Local 1D<\/a> in Brooklyn, N.Y., also aimed to help the nearly 20 participants learn how to best structure conversations with potential member activists for future organizing campaigns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Organizers were encouraged by the training and hope it leads to more engaged members. \u201cIt is a beautiful thing when your membership comes together to share a common goal for the betterment of the union,\u201d one organizer said. \u201cThis training will serve to increase the local\u2019s membership and, most importantly, grow the Distillery, Wine and Allied Workers Division to help us move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
