{"id":66167,"date":"2026-08-26T08:59:02","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T12:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ufcw.org\/?post_type=victories&#038;p=66167"},"modified":"2026-08-31T16:05:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T20:05:02","slug":"pharmacy-workers-in-ohio-vote-to-unionize","status":"publish","type":"victories","link":"https:\/\/www.ufcw.org\/actions\/victories\/pharmacy-workers-in-ohio-vote-to-unionize\/","title":{"rendered":"Pharmacy Workers in Ohio vote to Unionize"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By a two-to-one margin, pharmacy technicians at Kroger in Tiffin, Ohio voted to join&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufcw75.org\/en\">UFCW Local 75<\/a>&nbsp;earlier this month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These 10 new members join the other approximately 150 unionized Kroger workers at this location.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workers assist the store\u2019s pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and supporting patients with routine pharmacy needs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organizers say member activists played an important role in unionizing the unit by talking with workers about the benefits of having a strong contract and making sure these conversations were effective.&nbsp;Workers were inspired to unionize by a desire for better health insurance, improved wages and working conditions, and most importantly, a greater voice in how they were treated on the job. They wanted a meaningful seat at the table and the ability to work collectively to make their workplace better and fairer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"tw-max-w-217 tw-m-auto tw-px-6 rich-text contained-block\" data-module=\"paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe came together because we knew things could be better.
